Notes from the terminal.
Essays on the work behind the prompt. How to own a box, read an error, build a tool, and repeat the same labs until the commands stop lying to you.
AI did not kill the terminal. It made it the job.
Every model, agent, and GPU cluster runs on Linux. Somebody has to keep it alive. That somebody is not the model.
If you cannot SSH into it, you do not own it.
A rented box you cannot log into is an invoice with a dashboard. Owning a server means you can get inside and fix it.
The command failed. Good. That is the job.
The tutorial stopped helping. That is not the end of the lesson. It is where the actual work starts.
Use the tools. Then build one.
Using other people's tools is the start. Learning how they work is the next step. Building one is the goal.
One pass is a tour. Mastery takes ten.
Finish a lab once and a week later your head is blank. That is not a memory problem. It is a repetition problem.
Reading is the map. Reps are the skill.
None of these notes will make you fluent on their own. They are here to give you the shape of the work. The lab is where the work becomes yours.
